Rampone & Cazzani Vintage Alto Saxophone Silver Plate (Used). This is a relatively rare instrument in excellent condition for its age. It is suited to advanced and professional saxophonists. Though it can be used for any style, those who regularly play 1920s-30s-40s-50s swing, bigband and dance music will find this instrument a real joy to play. The saxophone was completely repadded in May 2021 using Italian Pisoni pads and quality materials. The instrument shows some signs of wear and tear on the plating, but has no dents or any other major damage. The sax comes in a brand-new Protec Pro-Pac case. No mouthpiece or ligature is included. Antique 19th Century exceptionally rare Burmese, Myanmar Solid Silver bowl, repousse’ decorated in high relief depicting different traditional scenes from the Burmese mythology, showing detailed figures set against a chiseled matted background in landscape. The top chased with scrolling bands and base decorated with a thick band of betel leaves. The quality of the bowl is simply sensational and very crisp. Base engraved with the deer makers mark for Maung Shwe Yon & Sons, Rangoon (see page 41, Wilkinson’s Indian silver). Maung Shwe Yon was one of the greatest master silversmiths active in Burma during the British colonial period. MSY died in 1889 and was succeeded by his three sons Maung Shwe Bin, Maung Thu Hlaing and Maung Yin Maung who would continue the family tradition, trading as the Maung Shwe Yon Brothers. This is not to cast shadow on his father who is undoubtedly responsible for setting up the most celebrated Burmese silver workshop and is also known to have participated in International exhibitions, including having displayed his silver at royal courts and now having his items displayed at the V&A museum. This is a rare top of the range quality Bb Buescher vintage Professional quality metal clarinet that has been well looked after. A nice clean 1930 Bb Buescher True Tone 740 Silver Plated Metal Clarinet. I have very recently heard this Bb Buescher Clarinet played by a professional reed player and it has a nice full body tone throughout the 3+1/2 octave range from PP to FF. Excellent condition considering its age, no dings or damage, probably some light surface marks Some silver plate tarnishing on some of the more well used keys and an unusual bald patch of worn? Plating under the Bell. Engraving on the bell reads: THE BUESCHER ELKHART IND. Engraving on the body reads: TRUE TONE 740. Good clean mouthpiece unmarked with a good looking reed. The clarinet comes in its original case marked BUESCHER ELKHART IND. Green velvet lining, fair condition inside, outside a bit tatty with printed numbers, showing scuffs etc. And signs of wear but still useable.
