Stunning Antique Silver Plated footed Biscuit Barrel Produced by The Atkin Brothers Sheffield. Superb two layers, the outer layer hand chased, the time consuming work displaying ribbon work, swags tails and a blank cartouche ready to be engraved, the inner layer is smooth, the lid is finished with pretty ornate floral finial. The signs of quality, professional and intricate handcrafting are apparent throughout this entire piece. The barrel itself measures H 12cm x W 12cm Bottom plate measures 18cm across. Overall height 19cm to top of finial. The barrel is a fine period correct antique. All silver-plating is intact and I suspect this has been loved and re-plated at some point in time there is no dents or dings or flaws. In very clean, remarkable excellent condition.
