Vintage SHERIDAN SILVER CO. 21 Inch Shell & Gadroon Rectangular Footed & Handled Waiter Tray. Made in the U. Measurements: The Silver Plated Tray measures 27 at the handles. The rectangular tray itself measures 21-5/8″ Length x 16-1/4″ Width. The Height is 1-3/4″ at the Tray Rim and 3-1/4″ at the Handles. It weighs almost 9 pounds! Description: Shells & Gadroon Border, Silver plate, Hollowware, Rectangular, Handles, Footed. Maker’s Marks: on the rear is “Crown-S-Shield” over “Silver on Copper”; this is the mark of the Sheridan Silver Co. Used from from 1946 until 1973. After 1973 the company became Sheridan Taunton Silversmiths Ltd. A division of Lenox, Inc. Condition: Light scratches exist, typical of previously used silver plated trays. A good silver polish will clean this up nicely.
