VINERS Vintage Silver Plated Oval Gallery Tea Drinks Serving Butlers Tray
A magnificent vintage English silver plated (on copper) gallery tray made by Viners of Sheffield – one of the top makers. Perfect for serving afternoon tea or pre-dinner drinks – all you need is a butler to carry it into your elegant drawing room! Oval in shape and measuring 18 x 12 inches. The deep, pierced rise & fall gallery rail has cutout grab handles at either end and the plateau is beautifully chased with a classic rococo pattern of flowers, leaves and scrolls surrounding a blank cartouche. It sits on four shallow domed feet. Very solid and weighty – truly excellent quality. Offered for sale in excellent vintage condition. It sits perfectly flat and the surface shows just the usual minor scratches and light signs of wear from use and polishing over the years – see photos. I sell a lot of these trays and this is a beautiful example that has obviously been used but well cared for. Freshly cleaned and polished to a nice bright shine. Will be very well packed.
