Amazing Rare Set 12 Harman 1900 Silver Dinner Plates 8966 grams Palm tree Crest
WHAT A FABULOUS ANTIQUE HALLMARKED MATCHED VICTORIAN SET OF 12 ENGLISH SILVER DINNER PLATES. IT IS OF THE HIGHEST QUALITY. And of stupendous weight and very special being in such fine order. A quite fabulous late 19th Century hallmarked silver set of items. It has a most attractive shape. Shell and gadroon borders. Seven are dated 1900 and by top makers Sydney Bellamy Harman. Five are dated 1882 and by Robert Harper. Each six lobed (sided) plate bears retailer’s stamp for HARMAN 177 NEW BOND ST LONDON. Each is a wonderful round large plate (refer to image). Each is 10.25 inches in width. Height is 0.625 inch. A wonderful set of highly unusual dinner plates. Definitely one for the collectors! A truly special antique lot well worth owning. The condition is excellent and all it needs is to be used. Each is engraved with a divine bull head crest and always has been. And a beautiful palm tree crest too. Would make a very nice present indeed. Each lovely platter is of exceptional quality and is a most delightful piece of hefty table silver. Weight of silver is a staggering 8966 grams (288.30 troy ounces), each piece is made of very thick gauge silver throughout. AMAZING c1890 VICTORIAN QUADRUPLE SILVER PLATE FIGURAL CHERUBS CENTERPIECE BOWL. Listed this week is an Amazing assortment of Sterling and Solid Silver from all over the world. This is one of our finest collections to date including some very Rare Georg Jensen examples etc. Also we have listed some fabulous Estate Treasures including fine Bronze Statues, Boxes, Paintings, Chinese and Japanese Arts and much, much more! The Stand is marked for the fine Victorian Period American Silversmiths the Wilcox Company and would date c1890. The Stand features 3 large amazing fully figured Winged Cherubs whose details are some of the best I have ever seen. The Stand is also finely etched with a Cherub scene ontop where the Glass Bowl sits, which I have not seen before. The Glass Bowl is incredibly well and finely cut throughout with a wonderful sawtooth border. The entire Centerpiece Bowl is in amazing condition, I believe someone has gone to the expense of having the Silver repaired in a few spots and replated as it is shiny and beautiful with no wear. The Glass Bowl is also in excellent condition with only some small chips to the sawtooth border but no cracks or repairs. The Centerpiece is very large and makes an incredible display measuring approx 11-1/4″ wide by 11-1/2″ tall overall or the Stand alone measures 8″ tall by 4-3/4″ wide across the top and the Bowl itself sits 4 tall.
