Vintage 1927/8 CONN Valve Trombone with Original Case

Here for sale is a vintage 1927-8 (serial number 208xxx) Conn Bb valve trombone. This trombone is in good shape functionally and cosmetically. The valves work smoothly with no hang-ups or dragging. One valve button is a replacement (still vintage) button. The tuning slide adjusts in and out like it should. An extra tuning slide is included. Please tap on the “Show More” button if you’d like to read more description and see all 24 photos of this trombone. Vintage 1927/8 CONN Valve Trombone w/ Original Case. Possibly the two slides allow for “high” or “low” pitch intonation, but I don’t know for sure. Cosmetically there are some minor dings here and there that are visible in the pictures. There is remarkably little play wear through the original satin silver finish. The engraving is very well defined and beautiful. The finish is a polished silver on the upper part of the bell where the engraving is, and a satin silver finish on the rest of the horn. A neat feature that speaks to the quality and care that went into making this instrument. Most of the original gold wash on the inside of the bell is still here. The worst of the dents by far are on the left side of the flair before the bell and one close to the lyre mount. The dents are pretty shallow and would be an easy repair for an experienced tech. Please check out all the photos. I made a lot of them to show both the condition of the finish and the overall fine integrity of this Conn valve trombone. I did not polish the finish except in the area where the engraving is. The rest is as found. There are no damaged parts (outside of the dents mentioned previously) or repairs I could find anywhere on the horn. It is straight and fits together like it should. This is a finely made beautiful sounding instrument that will provide years of enjoyment. It has been well loved and cared for. Included with the horn is an unmarked mouthpiece that was with the horn when I got it. I believe it is original to the horn. Also included is the original hard case that is in fair shape with the hing and all the latches working and handle intact. Please do not expect to get anything with the item being auctioned that is not shown in the pictures, unless it is mentioned in the item description as being included. Martin Band Instrument Company Vintage 1921 Handcraft Superlative Trumpet w Case. The trumpet pictured is the actual trumpet you will receive! Each instrument goes through a multi-point inspection, followed by a set-up process by our in-house tech staff. We then photograph each instrument with high-quality equipment in our on-site photography studio. We know that details like wood grain and color finishes can vary, so we want you to be able to see, to the best of our ability, exactly what you will be receiving. This process takes over an hour for each instrument – from inspection to pictures. We care about the instrument we put into your hands! It featured a medium bore, a tunable receiver, and 4.25 horn. This one seems to date to 1921, due to the lack of the pinky ring (that was added in 1922) and the serial number of 33321. It has finish #2, which is quadruple silver plate, sand blast finish, and gold bell. This trumpet does feature the tunable receiver, however it does not move freely, as though it has been soldered in place, which seems to be a common occurrence. This Martin Handcraft Superlative comes with the two Martin mouthpieces, music lyre, the original hardshell form fitting case with black exterior, purple interior and Martin badge on the front center, all pictured. This trumpet has been professionally serviced and sanitized – it had an acid flush, minor dent work and the silver was polished and cleaned. This is a used instrument and does show some signs of slight use, but has been fully tested and functions as expected. Vintage Original Condition – EC Conn C Melody Saxophone #M152054 Pat. Serial number dates to 1925. Comes in original case. Has an embossed Flower Design on the front with Made by EC Conn, Elkhart, Ind. Looks really good, not going to call every bruise, but I do not see any major dents or dings at all. There is a portion of metal where the mouthpiece goes that has broken off (photo 2 & 4) I don’t see any other real issues. No actual mouthpiece is included and cork will need replaced I would imagine. Please see photos and make your own determinations as you definitely know more than me about it. It is in the key of Bb/A, also featuring a highly engraved bell, the distinctive Art Deco? Its serial number is # 312863. By removing end piece of the first tuning slide, removing the middle section, then reinserting the end of the slide, you now have a? Originally founded by the. White Company was established in the late 1800? They subsequently created a new line of horns in the early – mid-1920? S naming it the? In 1965 the company was acquired by the. And the name changed to “King Musical Instruments”. Model was considered a Professional line of Trumpets and is still regarded in that mode today. It is beautiful, has a wonderful pitch, intonation and due to its construction? Can deliver a big Jazz sound! Some of the legends of Jazz used this horn, including Donald Byrd, Charlie Shavers? It was known to produce a very big vibrant tone! Further, as you can plainly see, this Trumpet has been re-done in every respect. Totally overhauled and superbly refinished. The process we use is as follows. Post inspection we thoroughly remediated any and all. Issues, including damaged parts that need repairing or replacement etc. It was put through it? S first of many? This is a process of intense cleaning, sanitizing, freeing stuck slides etc. ? Addressing literally every part of the interior of the instrument that normal cleaning cannot reach!
