Vintage Kings Pattern canteen of cutlery in silver plate with stainless steel knife blades by Smith Seymour of Sheffield. There are 8 place settings – 67 pieces in all. 8 dinner knives and forks, 8 salad knives and forks, 8 soup spoons, 8 dessert spoons, 8 teaspoons, 8 coffee spoons and 3 serving spoons. The blades of the knives all have the makers name. The cutlery has hardly been used and is in very good condition. The oak case is also in very good condition. This is a heavy set and weighs over 5 kgs. All the items listed have been lightly polished and cleaned so that any defects, previous repairs or damage can be seen in the photographs and detailed in the listing. I do not repair any of the items. I note visible makers marks or back stamps and try to establish an approximate age for all the items I list. Beautiful silver plated canteen for 6 people in its original dark wood box. The pieces are made in ornate King’s Pattern and will make a great addition to any special event. 6 table knives – 24 cm long. 6 table forks – 20 cm long. 18 cm long. 6 dessert knives – 21.5. 6 dessert forks – 18 cm long. 6 dessert spoons – 17.5 cm long. 6 teaspoons – 13.5 cm long. 2 large serving spoons – 22 cm long. Wear to box; some light scuffing commensurate with use; one tablespoon has scuffed bowl; 3 teaspoons have tiny wear to silvering on reverse. Most pieces are by the same maker, but there are few pieces by a different company. If you’re interested in vintage, particularly silver and silver plate – add me to your followed sellers and be the first to know when I list new items! All my silver and silver plated items have been given a quick polish with. Which are advertised as plating solutions. Whilst they wont silver plate your copper (contrary to what they may claim), I do recommend them for taking care of silver plated items in particular, as they wont strip off the thin silver layer, unlike silver cleaning products. Has had very little use, with no signs of rubbing or plate loss (any dark marks in photos is reflection from my ipad).
