Magnificent WMF Silver Plated Cranberry Crystal Glass Epergne Centerpiece. Dated : 1886 – 1894. Weight : 2.240 Grams approximately. Here we have a magnificent 4 piece cranberry crystal glass epergne centrepiece, its in amazing condition with all for of the crystal glass epergne in perfect condition, no damage whatsoever. It was made by WMF between 1886 and before 1894, it does have a stamp on the epergne holders NS, nickel silver, with the main WMF stamp situated on the underside of the base. It displays wonderfully and definitely has the look, this piece was made before the Art Nouveau period, however with such designs, its obvious where art nouveau had its inspiration. It does dismantle easily, with its main classical style frame unscrews from the base, each epergne holder also has a screw in fitting to the main frame, its a very sturdy and substantial piece. Its beautifully made, very intricate workmanship on the main frame and base, an absolutely piece from the makers WMF. Height : 58cm or 23 inches. Width : 33cm or 13 inches. Base Diameter : 17cm or 6.7 inches. Weight : 2.240 Grams. No dents or dints or nasty scratches, there is a little discolouration on the underside of the base, but very minimal. All threads (screw fitting) are perfect and without any play, base is straight and true, no wobbles. The crystal glass Epergne are all perfect, no nibbles , chips or cracks, even the fitting stems are undamaged. Amazing condition, especially a piece thats 140 years old approx.
