Authentic White Star Line Toast Rack Pre RMS Olympic Elkington Silver Plate 1903

VINTAGE ORIGINAL WHITE STAR LINE 1st CLASS LARGE 6 SLOT TOAST RACK – ELKINGTON SILVER PLATE – 1903. This one is made by Elkington and has a silver plate date stamp with the letter R in a barrel, dating this to 1903. It has the house flag of the White Star Line stamped on one side of the very ornate and decorative beaded handle area. This one is larger than some others I’ve seen and is mounted on ball shaped feet. It measures approximately 7″ X 3 1/4″ X 5 5/8 high. It is in very good overall condition for something 100+ years old. It would have been used onboard any number of steamships in 1st class dining saloons during the late Victorian era into the early Edwardian period and beyond. Most likely from steamships such as the RMS Cedric, the Baltic, the Adriatic, or perhaps even the Olympic, to name a few. It has signs of a long career, showing a few clunks and bumps with some bent areas from years of use, but it will still display beautifully in a collection!! The razor comes with the original paper box, plastic case celluloid? Please take the time to read the condition below (small issue). More neat stuff in our store! Made of metal (triple silver plate). The razor has a small issue. There is a very tiny hairline at the top of the handle close to the end cap (see our photos). We are unsure if this is a flaw or was caused somehow. In our opinion, it is a very minor issue. The razor also has a couple of small dark spots. Otherwise, the razor looks fine opens and closes. All other pieces look great! Made in Sheffield, England by one of the best makers. 4 large serving spoons. 12 large dinner knives. 12 large dinner forks. 12 smaller knives – salad, starter, dessert. Salad, starter, dessert. All measurements are in photos. Very good used, small signs of wear such as fine surface scratches from previous use only. Silver plate is not worn off. Two dinner forks have been lost and replaced by a different design. The box has been worn, scratches, small dents etc. Range from fewer carbon emissions to saving water and reducing waste.
