This large vintage butlers serving tray is a stunning addition to any collection. The tray is made of silverplate and has beautiful footed design. Its age is post-1940 and it is perfect for serving guests at any special occasion. The tray can be used as a platter for serving appetizers, or as a decorative piece in a dining room. This is the individual mark used on coin and silver spoons (Hartford, CT, 1825 – 1841). This mark continued to be used until 1976 in silverplated flatware. The bottom of the plate is inscribed with the (Eagle) WM. Rogers (Star) emblem 170.
Each serving piece has scrolling leaves on the handles and feet, grapes and leaves around the middles of all the bodies (except for the tilting pot), bulbous shaped bodies, the tilting pot has very slight reticulation (see pic) and topped with grapes and leaves finials.
