A beautiful and rare collectable WMF Art Nouveau Silver Plated (best nickel silver) Oval shaped bonbon dish, marked with a combination of WMF symbols, WMF, N/S, EP f. Its design is Art Nouveau / Jugenstil with stunningly beautiful oval shape with very rare and unusual handles, each handle features an old man with a long beard (Father Time / Zeus I believe) very rare. The main body is decorated with precision pierced work and Art Nouveau / Jugenstil designs which look very stylish, the stand is circled with a wave pattern around the base, again very unusual. This piece has retained its original Cranberry Glass Insert liner, stunning light cranberry and without any nibbles or chips. This piece of WMF is of superior quality and condition, perfect style as you would expect from one of the best Metal ware companies in the world, WMF. Very little silver loss, if any at all. Metal work is perfect, no bends or buckles, no dents, dints. Scratches, pierced work is perfect no breaking. The Cranberry glass insert is in excellent condition, no nibbles, cracks, chips, or scratches, some very light rubbing / watermarks, its hand blown and does have some waves in the glass, its hand blown, must have. This piece of WMF is simply in amazing condition and considering its over a 120 years old, it must of been a cherished piece by its previous owners. Width including handles : 18.7cm.
