This King sliver plated valve trombone was made in about 1899 and it’s in very good condition. The plating has held up very well and is still bright and shiny. There are a few minor dents in the bell section and some evidence of soldering work in the tubing coming out of the third valve (see pictures), but otherwise we see no signs of any significant previous damage or repair work. This trombone presents really well, and doesn’t look anywhere near as old as it is. The original case shows wear but is structurally intact. One latch is broken, but the other latch and the center case lock work as they should. The handle has been replaced. The latches work well. There’s no serious damage to the wood, although the case certainly shows wear consistent with its age. All reasonable offers considered.
