These stork umbilical cord scissors would have been used by a midwife. Possibly German around the early 1900’s. The stork has an aesculapian snake wrapped around its neck and beak. It has 2 geckos on the bottom of the handle to allow the stork to stand. Most of these have a baby on the inside of the stork. This particular one does not. It does have a spot where it appears to have been filled in with the initials L. Pure speculation, but wonder if the baby was covered up? Measurements of the scissors are 5″ tall x 3 1/4″ wide.
