Nice complete set if service for 12 Youth pattern(1940) plus hostess/serving pieces it’s inlaid silver some toning in pieces but can be cleaned up very heavy set box shown is just for showing (not part of sale to cut down on weight) 86 pc set 12 of ea, knives, dinner forks, teaspoons, salad/dessert forks, Ice tea spoons, individual butter knives. With 6 serving spoons, plus 2 master butter knives, 1 cake server, 1 ladle, 2 sugar spoons, 1 serving fork, 1 what I believe is called a berry spoon. Vintage 1934 Holmes and Edwards Inlaid Silver Plate flatware set for 8 persons

Vintage Holmes & Edwards Inlaid Silver plate flatware set for 8 persons from about 1934 when my parents were married. The set is in very good condition with minimal wear and use only on special occasions. The inlaid silver plate is superior to silver plate since the silver coating is thicker and more durable. The set contains 16 teaspoons, 8 forks, 8 dessert forks, 8 knives and 3 large serving spoons all in the same pattern. Also included are four extra pieces in different patterns which are. 1 soup ladle manufactured by Warwick Silver Plate N. 1 large serving spoon by R. 1 butter knife by New England Silver plate. 1 cake server by Peerless Silver plate. The wood silver chest measures 11 1/4 inches depth, 12 7/8 inches width, 5 1/4 inches height. The liner is a burgundy velvet. The chest is in very good condition. All kept in a clean, smoke free home–no funky odor! I honestly describe my items to the best of my knowledge. The item in the picture is the one you will receive. INTRODUCTION : I bought this gorgeous silver plate flat wear with the intention of having the pieces that needed it re-plated. I never did so, therefore this silver has moved around with me countless times. It is a handsome pattern and sets a lovely table. PARTICULARS : “Romance I” by Holmes and Edwards was first manufactured in silver plate in 1925. Some of these pieces are monogrammed with a “B”, some are not. I will make a note as to the shape each set is in. 19 Teaspoons: 8 monogrammed, 3 damaged, 8 worn. 13 Salad Forks: 9 monogrammed, 2 damaged, 5 worn. 12 Cream Soup Spoons: 11 monogrammed, 0 damaged, 0 worn. 16 Dinner Knives: 11 monogrammed, 3 have blade damage, 0 worn. 12 Dinner Forks: 11 monogrammed, 0 damaged, 12 worn. 12 Bullion Spoons: 0 monogrammed, 0 damaged, 0 worn. 6 Iced Tea Spoons: 0 monogrammed; 0 damaged, 0 worn. 7 Ice Cream Spoons: 0 monogrammed, 0 damaged, 0 worn. 3 Demitasse Spoons: 0 monogrammed, 0 damaged, 0 worn. 6 Butter Knives: 0 monogrammed, 0 damaged, 0 worn. 2 Place Spoons: 2 monogrammed, 0 damaged, 0 worn. 2 Serving Forks: 0 monogrammed, 0 damaged, 0 worn. 3 Serving Spoons: 0 monogrammed, 0 damaged, 0 worn. 1 Vegetable Serving Spoon: 0 monogrammed, 0 damaged, 1 worn. 1 Sugar Shell: 1 monogrammed, 0 damaged, 1 worn. 1 Nut Spoon: 0 monogrammed, 0 damaged, 1 worn. 1 Butter Serving Knife: 1 monogrammed, 0 damaged, 1 worn. I use the term “worn” to mean the piece is losing its plating. The dinner forks and the vegetable serving spoon are the only pieces too worn to use and set a pretty table. The rest of the pieces are in good condition – especially considering they are 90 years old. There is a total of 117 pieces of silver plate flat wear. This Holmes & Edwards silver plate flatware set is in the 1938 “Danish Princess” pattern and was designed by Lillian V. The set includes 72 pieces , along with a lovely flatware box.
