A magnificent vintage English silver plated (on copper) gallery tray. Perfect for serving afternoon tea or pre-dinner drinks – all you need is a butler to carry it into your elegant drawing room! Oval in shape and measuring 18×12 inches. The pierced gallery rail has cutout grab handles at either end and the plateau is beautifully chased with a classic rococo pattern of scrolls surrounding a blank central cartouche. The tray stands on four scale feet with anti-scratch pads attached to each. Very solid and weighty. Offered for sale in superb vintage condition. It sits perfectly flat and the surface shows hardly any signs of use – the plate is still bright and gleaming like the day it was made! Antique large oval Butlers Serving Tray with handles. Silver plated on brass. Very heavy, solid piece, close to 2.5 kg in weight. 22″ x 17″ – that is not including the handles. Mid 19th century, most likely circa 1840 as it arrived with a silver plated meat dome that dates around that time. If you are interested in the dome, it is listed. Please see two last photos. Used with signs of wear all over. Please refer to photos. Silver plate is somewhat worn off and brass is showing. This is for a beautiful Silver Plated tray. It is unmarked with the makers name. It has a beautiful highly decorated floral rim and handles. This measures: 23 inches wide x 14 inches deep x 1.5 inches tall at the handles. It is a wonderful tray for serving items at a party, to holding a tea set to perhaps candles for a centerpiece. This surely will be enjoyed for years to come! I may or may not know details but do spend time researching information to provide details the best I can and to pass along fair prices. It is 25″ x 15″ x 1.5 and stands on ornate feet and is very heavy. The scrolling is very well done and just beautiful. This tray was presented and engraved in 1974 by Graniteville Company and presented to an employee for many years service. The engraving is lightly done, not very noticeable and in the center and does not detract from the piece, it actually adds an interesting historic element to it. The Graniteville Company was one of the earliest and most successful textile manufacturing operations in the South, chartered in 1845. The company was unusual in that it did not use the labor of black slaves as was common at the time. After WWII the company pioneered the production of permanent press fabric. You’ll love this tray. A lovely English silver plated gallery tray made in Sheffield. Perfect for serving afternoon tea or pre-dinner drinks – all you need is a butler to carry it into your drawing room! Oval in shape, measuring 18 x 12 inches and standing roughly two and a half inches tall. The pierced rise-and-fall gallery rail has cutout grab handles at either end and the plateau is beautifully chased with a classic rococo pattern of scrolls and foliage. The tray is raised up on four ball & claw feet for that extra touch of grandeur. Offered for sale in very good vintage condition with no plate loss. It sits well and the surface shows the usual light scratches from use/polishing and some minor dents to the gallery – see photographs.
