The chest is included, but you may elect to not take it. It is your choice. Instead, please message me for an updated invoice. The First Love silverplate pattern was first introduced in 1937 by 1847 Rogers Brothers International Silver Company. Included in this set are the following pieces. 12 Dinner Knives 9 ¼ long (all have stainless steel blades). 12 Dinner Forks 7 ¾ long. 12 Salad Forks 7 long. 12 Oval Soup Spoons 6 ¾ long. 24 Teaspoons 6 ¼ long. 1 Master Butter Knife 6 ¾ long. 1 Sugar Spoon – 6 long. 2 Serving Spoons 8 ½ long. 1 Meat Fork 8 ¾ long. 1 Casserole Spoon 9 long. 1 Gravy Ladle – 6 long. 1 Child Fork 4 ¼ long. Authentic 1847 Rogers Bros Chest. All pieces have International Silver (IS) except knives. But none of them display the pattern name on the back of the handle. This set is in very good condition except the childs fork. It has heel wear. Some tarnish is present, but I think it should wipe right off with a polishing cloth. Each piece is as I found it at an estate sale. I did not attempt to clean or polish it. Most pieces do have some small scratches from use and some tarnish is present. There are no bent or dented or pitted tines/blades/handles/bowls. The silver chest is about 19 ¼ x 11 ½ x 3 ½ and accommodates this set very well. The chest is structurally sound but shows a lot of wear. Like a lot of older silver chests, it has nicks and scratches and scrapes in the finish. The hinges are secure and operate smoothly. The chest is still square and true and closes in alignment. The interior of the chest also shows some use/wear. A few of the loops are somewhat frayed. The material lining the bottom of the chest is a lovely wine color – feels like velveteen. There is a small sticker at the lower right front of the chest bottom that states it is a prevent tarnish container approved by International Silver Co. With a larger IS in the middle. The lid is lined halfway up with the same wine colored material. Above that is off white satin. In the upper right corner is a sticker that states Look for the Year-1847 Rogers Bros For 90 Years Americas Finest Plate with a larger 1847 in the center. Silverplate is heavy, especially a set with a silver chest included. It takes time but I carefully wrap/package the silverplate and chest so it will arrive safely. I do not use rubber bands to wrap the silverware; there is a chemical used in the processing of rubber that actually burns the silverplate.
