Breitling Vintage WW2 40s era Venus 170 up & down chronograph watch works great

This is a nice example of a. 40s WW2 entry level Breitling “up & down” chronograph , The watch is working beautifully after a full check over , the beautiful horsehide chestnut strap is period correct. It has had a new balance staff & centre seconds hand fitted & been oiled , regulated & tested. The chronograph function works as it should and the watch keeps great time. It is fitted with a Venus 17 jewel calibre 170 as used on a few chronos of the period, it earned the nickname “up & down” as the dials are at 12 & 6 as opposed to 3 & 9 or 3. The movements in the 40s were not signed Breitling should you have any doubts of the authenticity. The watch has great “syringe” blued hands , & has the correct 3 digit case code and serial so you can research this for any piece of mind (and also the case & lugs shape of this Breitling model can be compared with others should you wish to research on any Breitling websites or forums). The dial shows wear as pictured. Consistent with its 80 years vintage , I think it looks excellent , & shows real patina & character. Its a very nice practical watch ready to go. It looks stunning and its 34mm across or 36mm with the crown and 40mm across the lugs the band width is 17mm. Ould make a lovely Christmas present or birthday gift , for the vintage Breitling or chronograph fan, a really wonderful vintage timepiece. We are offering for your consideration a lovely, 4- piece, silver plated tea and coffee service bearing the Henry Birks & Sons hallmark. This family of English jewelers & silversmiths dates back to the late Georgian and early Victorian era in England. John Birks went to Montreal around 1832, to open up a shop there. In 1840, Henry Birks was born. In 1879, Henry Birks and his sons became known as the Henry Birks & Company. Their superior quality workmanship became world renowned in Canada and England. The service is known as Regency Plate and was manufactured around 1905. The pieces measure the following. Hinged Coffee Pot measures 8.75 inches high and 11 inches wide from handle to spout. Hinged Teapot measures 5.75 inches high and 11 inches wide from handle to spout. Uncovered Sugar Bowl measures 4 inches high and 8 inches wide between the two handles. Creamer measures 3.75 inches and 5.75 inches wide between the handle and spout. A lovely tea service decorated with a striking pleated design and accented with a rope design, seashell design and large Acanthus leaves. The interior of the sugar bowl and creamer have a gilt finish indicative of a superior manufacturing firm. Vintage Silver Plated Los Angeles Super Professional Trumpet. This is a trumpet any professional quality player or collector should enjoy. I acquired this trumpet in a trade with my brass tech who is also a professional trumpet player. I know the trumpet has been well maintained and I have enjoy playing it. At some point in the past the trumpet was replated. The plating for the most part is very good. There is a spot of missing plating on the inside of the bell. There also is a little solder on the brace (last photo). The trumpet looks very good. There are no large dents. It seems that the valves were also re-plated and re-fitted as well. They are original with matching serial numbers and have a great feel to them with strong compression. All slides are free and functional. The trumpet has a great warm rich colorful sound and I believe you will really enjoy this one. Included is a used but very nice lightweight deluxe case. Marks: International Silver Co. This set appears to be in great, vintage condition. May have typical signs of use such as light surface scratches, polish residue and possible tarnish (although at time of listing everything was cleaned and polished). This Liberty Version II is an early example, with the German Silver piston material, that closely resembles contemporary Monel valves. Shortly after this one was made, H. White switched to the heavier nickel plated valves. No abuse, just a really nice instrument. Sound is nimble, resonant and dark, and the horn is a pleasure to play. Have a look and listen HERE. I have a very interesting, cool looking!! vintage Haynes silver headjoint for sale. From the information I have been able to gather, Haynes made these as early as the 20’s. I have been told Clem Barone, the father. The son with the same name played pic at Detroit. And Hubert Laws (student of Clem Barone) also used one of these. It weighs 69 grams, and is 22 cm long.
