A RARE ANTIQUE CHILDRENS’ OR MINIATURE SILVER COFFEE AND TEA SERVING SET. THIS SILVER SERVING SET CONSISTS OF AN OVAL TRAY, COFFEE POT, TEA POT AND A SUGAR AND CREAMER. EACH PIECE IS DONE IN A SWIRL PATTERN WITH VERY ELABORATELY SCROLLED HANDLES—EXCEPT THE TRAY. THESE SETS WERE FREQUENTLY GIVEN AS PREMIUMS OR ADVERTISING PIECES BY COMPANIES IN THE 1890’s. THERE ARE NO MARKS OR NUMBERS ON ANY OF THE PIECES. THE COFFEE POT HAS A HINGED LID; MEASURES 5 INCHES HIGH; 4 1/2 INCHES WIDE FROM THE TIP OF THE SPOUT TO THE BACK OF THE HANDLE; AND 2 INCHES DIAMETER AT THE BASE. THE TEA POT HAS A HINGED LID; MEASURES 4 1/4 INCHES HIGH; 4 1/2 INCHES WIDE FROM THE TIP OF THE SPOUT TO THE BACK OF THE HANDLE; AND 2 INCHES DIAMETER AT THE BASE. THE SUGAR BOWL HAS A LIFT TOP LID; MEASURES 3 1/8 INCHES HIGH; 3 1/2 INCHES WIDE FROM HANDLE TO HANDLE; AND 1 1/2 INCHES DIAMETER AT THE BASE. THE CREAMER MEASURES 2 1/2 INCHES HIGH; 3 INCHES WIDE FROM TIP OF THE SPOUT TO THE BACK OF THE HANDLE; AND 1 1/2 INCHES DIAMETER AT THE BASE. THE OVAL TRAY MEASURES 9 7/8 INCHES LONG; 6 3/4 INCHES WIDE; AND 1/2 INCH HIGH. THIS VERY IMPRESSIVE SET IS IN PRISTINE CONDITION.
