Beautiful WMF Lily of the Valley Silver Plated Art Nouveau Centre Piece/ Fruit Stand. Stamped Running Ostrich g, OX oxidised , 1/0 thickness of silver. Wonderful Display Piece, absolutely gleaming. A very beautiful WMF Art Nouveau silver plated centrepiece / Fruit Stand , dating around1903. Made by one of the best metalwork companies in the world WMF, Wurttembergische Metal Fabrik. This piece is absolutely beautiful the workmanship that was put into this piece is simply perfection. The edge of the centrepiece is trellis ribbons which incorporates both handles and entwined with Lily of the Valley flowers, leaf and stems. In the centre of the bowl with the continuing ribbon is a beautiful Celtic / Jugendstil floral display. Please check out the photos. The dish stands on a central oval column base which is very sturdy and minimalistic. The WMF mark is situated on the handle underside, very clear and well marked, Its the very early mark Running Ostrich g in the old style which indicates it was the one of the first registered Ostrich marks used, its also stamped with OX and 1/0. The underside of this piece is shiny and immaculately clean, its obviously been displayed as a cabinet /display piece as no way has this piece had much action, only polishing and care. The silver plating is fantastic without silver loss, no damage to the trellis work, plus its totally in line, no splits, No dents, no scratches, no rubbing of the silver. Its very rare to catch a piece in this condition. Maybe some very light polishing marks, and makers impression marks but nothing that would effect its beauty in anyway. Condition is exceptional condition. Its displays wonderfully, 120 years old and totally usable in todays world. Would look fantastic in any style home. A very stylish and quality piece from WMF. Oval Base Diameter: 14.3cm x 11.5cm. It was very difficult to take photos of this piece as the high shine caused reflections and distortion, any patches are purely reflection. Gents Vintage Montine Roman Numerals Gold Plated Bracelet Watch – Working. Beautiful vintage montine dress bracket watch. Lovely for that special occasion and for any collection. Condition – good condition, minor surface scratches. Dial ok with some age related marks appears to have a stain possibly where it may have previously been sat in direct light. Crystal has been professionally polished minor surface scratching may remain. Wound and Tested over night and keeping good time. Gender – Men’s. Country of manufacture – Swiss. Movement – Manual wind. Case Material – gold plated. Crown Approx – 27.6mm. Case size lug-to-lug – 32mm. Thickness – 9.4mm. Lug width – n/a. Strap – fixed gold plated strap which has been deep cleaned. I personally change or polish crystal/Plexiglass to a high standard and straps plus test the watches for efficiency unless specified in title and description. The pictures provided form part of the description and should be checked thoroughly. I do not service the watches, only refurbish unless specified in title/description. If I have changed something I will detail it in the listing. All stock is stored in a secure facility until sale and therefore extra pictures cannot be provided. WHAT A FABULOUS ANTIQUE HALLMARKED MATCHED VICTORIAN SET OF 12 ENGLISH SILVER DINNER PLATES. IT IS OF THE HIGHEST QUALITY. And of stupendous weight and very special being in such fine order. A quite fabulous late 19th Century hallmarked silver set of items. It has a most attractive shape. Shell and gadroon borders. Seven are dated 1900 and by top makers Sydney Bellamy Harman. Five are dated 1882 and by Robert Harper. Each six lobed (sided) plate bears retailer’s stamp for HARMAN 177 NEW BOND ST LONDON. Each is a wonderful round large plate (refer to image). Each is 10.25 inches in width. Height is 0.625 inch. A wonderful set of highly unusual dinner plates. Definitely one for the collectors! A truly special antique lot well worth owning. The condition is excellent and all it needs is to be used. Each is engraved with a divine bull head crest and always has been. And a beautiful palm tree crest too. Would make a very nice present indeed. Each lovely platter is of exceptional quality and is a most delightful piece of hefty table silver. By Henry Wilkinson & Co. 12.5 inches (32cm) width X 10 inches (25cm) max depth X 7.5 inches (19cm) height approx. It is difficult to trace the origin of the firm in the 18th and the first part of the 19th century, owing to the complexity of intertwined partnerships involving the numerous firms active in Sheffield in the silver business. The Chronology until 1829 is only a hypothesis largely based on Frederick Bradbury’s book on Old Sheffield Plate (first published in 1912). Anyway, Henry Wilkinson & Co, Plate Worker, Norfolk Street, Sheffield entered its first mark in the Sheffield Assay Office on September 24, 1831. Henry Wilkinson & Co was involved in the manufacture of Old Sheffield Plate and was the second firm in Sheffield to receive a licence for the use of the electroplating system (1843). Various pieces of its production were successfully exhibited at the Great Exhibition of 1851. Since the 1850s Henry Wilkinson & Co was active in London with James Price as agent and from 1857 with a Showroom at 4 Bolt Court, Fleet Street (later, Ely House, 13 Charterhouse Street, Holborn Circus). Hallmarks were entered in London Assay Office in 1857 (by Henry Wilkinson) and 1879 (by John Brashier).
