Antique Victorian Sheffield Silver Plated Swirled Glass Ornate Claret Jug. For your consideration is this antique late 19th century silver plate and glass ornate claret jug with lid. The top rim, handle and lid are made of heavy gauge silver plate. 11 1/2 tall x 5 1/4 diameter at widest. The top opening is 2 4 diameter. This is not marked but has been authenticated to be sheffield Silver Plate.. The glass is rippled and swirled with a pontil on the bottom with vivid colours of Cranberry, Yellow and White. I have never seen one like this before and it looks amazing. The handle is very ornate. The lid is plain there is an ornate metal design decorating this claret jug around the top. It is in very good condition with no chips or cracks. The lid hinge freely works and the Silver Plate is still very strong with no fading or patches. Overall we have a Superb rare one off Claret Jug with Ornate Victorian Silver Plate and amazing Swirl glass.
