All pieces (except the dinner knives) have the International Silver (IS) backstamp, but only the Pastry Server has the First Love name in cursive the rest do not. To see if it was true, but they did not know. The chest is included, but you may elect to not take it. It is your choice. Instead, please message me for an updated invoice. The First Love silverplate pattern was first introduced in 1937 by 1847 Rogers Brothers International Silver Company. Included in this set are the following pieces. 12 Dinner Knives 9 ¼ long (all have stainless steel tapered blades). 12 Dinner Forks 7 ¾ long. 12 Salad Forks 7 long. 12 Round Gumbo Soup Spoons 7 long. 12 Butter Spreaders 6 ¼ long. 24 Teaspoons 6 ¼ long. 1 Butter Knife with Flat handle 6 ¾ long. 1 Sugar Spoon – 6 long. 3 Serving Spoons 8 ½ long. 1 Chip Beef Fork 6 ¼ long. 1 Pastry Server 10 ½ long. This set is in good condition, but some tarnish may be present. Each piece is as I found it at an estate sale. I did not attempt to clean or polish it. Most pieces do have some tiny scratches from use, but I can find no dings or gouges. The silver chest is an authentic 1847 Rogers Bros chest. The manufacturers name is etched on the edge of the lid. The silver chest is 16 x 11 ½ x 3 ½ and accommodates this set well. The chest is structurally sound but shows wear. Like a lot of old silver chests, it has nicks & scratches in the finish. The hinges are secure and operate smoothly. The chest is still square and true and closes in alignment. The interior of the chest shows similar use/wear. The material lining the chest is wine colored felt. It does show some wear. Silverplate is heavy, especially a set with a silver chest included. It takes time but I carefully wrap/package the silverplate and chest so it will arrive safely. I do not use rubber bands to wrap the silverware; there is a chemical used in the processing of rubber that actually burns the silverplate. Please feel free to message me if you have any questions.
