0505 Wading Bird Menu Holders. A set of six silver plated cast metal place card or personal menu holders. They are modelled as wading birds (perhaps ruff or curlew) and set on oval bases. To the far side are rounds with cut outs, and they would be used on the dinner table to hold a name card or a small menu. To the underside there are two marks, but they are somewhat difficult to decipher, perhaps being an S and a C. The half box is likely not original. Date wise the menu holders appear to be post war onwards. They are nicely modelled and very sweet as you can see. One example has been pressed down resulting in a broken leg and a shorter stance than the others, but still perfectly usable. Another has a shorter stance so has perhaps been compressed however there is no resulting damage, others are in good order.
