Large silver plated punch bowl on a pedestal base, with two ornate lion face handles. The bowl comes with a ladle. Very good vintage condition. Some wear to silvering; scuffing and some dark marks on the bowl; marks from handles on bowl. 26.5 cm across the top. 16 cm at base. All my silver and silver plated items have been given a quick polish with. Which are advertised as plating solutions. Whilst they wont silver plate your copper (contrary to what they may claim), I do recommend them for taking care of silver plated items in particular, as they wont strip off the thin silver layer, unlike silver cleaning products. This charming vintage silver-plate pitcher was made by Reed and Barton. He has a big smiling face on both sides and is known as Sunny Jim. The pitcher is marked on the bottom: REED & BARTON 5640 4 PT. This is a quality silverplate pitcher. It measures 5 7/8 high at the spout and 8 ¾ wide including the handle. Sunny Jim is in very good condition. There are no dents, no repairs, and no damage of any kind. The bottom has the typical fine scratches. I think he would benefit from a good polishing. A wonderful piece to display! And imagine how much fun it would be using Sunny Jim to serve lemonade, or iced tea or any favorite beverage!
