Antique vintage Malachite polished lidded box with silverplate or silver box with repousse work. A fine vintage Mexican silver-plated PITCHER by Los Castillo is available. The piece is in good, acceptable condition. The pitcher shows age-consistent surface wear. There are no dents or dings, but there are some visible deep scratches on the neck and the body of the piece. The handle has an applied malachite stone handle. All complete and present. No edge chips or cracks. The body has an undulating band of applied brass with malachite’dot’ accents. Although it appears visually that one dot might be missing, there’s no indication that one was removed; we think it’s by design. The pitcher measures 8.25″ tall and 19.5″ around the belly. Benchmarks LOS CASTILLO, TAXCO, MADE IN MEXICO, TA-01, PLATEADO, 206 Weight 31 oz. 878 grams, 1 lb. Please check all pics carefully. Silverplate & Malachite Inlay Parrot Mid Century Vintage Taxco Mexico Pitcher. Used vintage condition–show normal signs of dark tarnish, patina, and light scuffs to piece. Very thick, sturdy peace! Genuine malachite stone inlay on the parrot, has 2 areas where it looks filled with black resin (see close up), looks to have been made that way. No other notable damage. Stamped/signed on base but cannot read the name, marked “plateado” and “Taxco Mexico”. Looks very similar/identical to other pitchers listed as Los Castillo. Nice hand hammered design on the silverplate. See images for more details. Measures 10″x5″, pitcher alone is 9″x5″, parrot is about 7″, 3″ opening and base. Vintage Los Castillo’s silver plate creamer with a bird on the top of the handle with inlaid malachite & a brass crest. It measures approx 5 1/4″ tall to the top of the brass crest 3 1/4″ tall at the lip 3 3/4 from the lip to the handle.
