47 piece sterling silver plate flatware. Marking says pat (patented) 1917- the year my grandparents bought them & set up their household. To left of pat 1917 are 3 very small hexagons & it looks like 899 inside them. Set includes 6 butter knives, 6 dinner forks, 8 teaspoons, 5 soup spoons (that have been recoated), 11 salad forks and 11 ice cream or dessert spoons. This is a beautiful large set from over one hundred years ago.

Mm tall (10 1/2 inches). Condition: Good, considering age. Some little dings, dents and surface scratches – nothing too heavy. Warm copper tones bleeding through, mainly on raised parts. Areas of black tarnishing that will polish off. Some old wax residue, mainly inside the slots. Little balls of old solder have bled out from the seam inside the slots, on one stick more than the other (see photo 7) this is usually caused by heat. Wear commensurate with age and use. Please keep this in mind when purchasing. Nice large vintage Towle Silver Plate footed tray, with ornate handles and elegant Grand Duchess flower pattern. Ideal size for tea set or. The length of the tray is 26″ excluding handles and 30″ long from handle end to handle end. It’s 20″ wide and 2″ high. Marked Towle EP 6955 on the back. Very good vintage condition. No deep scratches, dents, dings or loss of silver. There is one small corrosive spot on the center edge of the tray, and one of the decorative edge scroll has tiny corrosive pitting specks.
