The First Love silverplate pattern was first introduced in 1937 by 1847 Rogers Brothers International Silver Company. Included in this set are the following pieces. 12 Dinner Knives 9 ¼ long (all have stainless steel tapered blades). 12 Dinner Forks 7 ¾ long. 12 Salad Forks 7 long. 12 Dessert/Oval Soup Spoons 6 ¾ long. 24 Teaspoons 6 ¼ long. 1 Butter Knife with Flat handle 6 ¾ long. 1 Sugar Spoon – 6 long. 2 Serving Spoon 8 ½ long. 1 Meat Fork 9 long. 1 Gravy Ladle 6 long. Authentic 1847 Rogers Bros Chest. This set is in good condition, but some tarnish may be present. Most pieces will need cleaning and polishing. Each piece is as I found it at an estate sale. I did not attempt to clean or polish it. Most pieces do have some small scratches from use. There are no bent or dented or pitted tines/blades/handles/bowls. The silver chest is about 17 ½ x 11 ½ x 3 ¾ and accommodates this set very well. This chest is an authentic 1847 Rogers Bros chest. The chest is structurally sound but shows wear. Like a lot of old silver chests, it has nicks and scratches in the finish. The hinges are secure and operate smoothly. The chest is still square and true and closes in alignment. The interior of the chest also shows some use/wear. The material lining the bottom of the chest is a luscious wine color. In the right corner is a sticker that states Tarnish Resisting Chest Tested and Approved by the Laboratories of The International Silver Co. The lid is lined halfway up with the same wine colored material. Above that and behind the knives is off-white satin. It is imprinted with 1847 Rogers Bros For Over 100 Years Americas Finest Silverplate. Silverplate is heavy, especially a set with a silver chest included. It takes time but I carefully wrap/package the silverplate and chest so it will arrive safely. I do not use rubber bands to wrap the silverware; there is a chemical used in the processing of rubber that actually burns the silverplate. Please feel free to message me if you have any questions.
