A truly magnificent vintage English silver plated gallery tray made by Parkin Silversmiths Ltd (PSL) of Sheffield. Perfect for serving afternoon tea or pre-dinner drinks – all you need is a butler to carry it into your elegant drawing room! Octagonal in shape, measuring 18 3/4 x 12 inches and standing roughly two and a half inches tall. The pierced serpentine gallery rail has cutout grab handles at either end and the plateau is beautifully chased with a classic rococo pattern of scrolls and foliage surrounding a blank central cartouche. The tray is raised up on four shell feet for that extra touch of grandeur. Offered for sale in excellent vintage condition with no plate loss or damage. It sits perfectly flat – no wobble – and the surface shows minimal signs of use, just a few fine scratches and age spots.
