A lovely pair of antique, silver plated Art Nouveau drop earrings; beautifully made, with ornate designs and set with glass orbs, known as’pools of light’ – as they concentrate ambient light to an area behind them in a very attractive way – you can see this happening quite clearly in the photos. In strong light the effect is pronounced. They date from around 1890 and are in excellent, fully wearable condition throughout, with no loss or damage. They weigh 18.7 grams together and have a total drop of 2 inches, the larger orbs being 16 mm in diameter. The final photo shows them with a US penny (1 cent) coin for scale, which measures 19 mm / ¾ of an inch diameter.
