(1) 1880 – 1929 Vintage PAIRPOINT MFG. Made in New Bedford, Mass. #356 on bottom of each piece. Pairpoint “P” inside diamond. Pieces need to be cleaned but should shine up nicely. Tea/coffee pot measures approx. 8 1/2″ in height, 6 1/4″ front to back (width), 9 1/2 from tip of spout to end of handle. Flip top works great with no rust on hinge. Sugar bowl with lid measures approx. 6″ in height, 5 1/4″ front to back (width), 7 1/2 from outside of handle to outside of handle and approx. 4 1/2″ in height, 4 1/4″ front to back (width), 6 from tip of pour spout to end of handle and approx. 3 1/4 deep inside. Shows a little wear on bottom inside edges. Waste bowl measures approx. 4 1/2″ in total height, 4 1/4″ front to back (width), 7 1/2″ from outside of handle to outside of handle and 3 1/4″ deep inside. I see no dings or serious damage. There are some minor, light scratches but nothing deep. Each piece has a beautiful flowered design with some very nice ornate designs on both sides with a monogrammed J on one of the sides. A little history about Pairpoint. In 1880, a small Britannia factory was established adjacent to the glass works by the owners and director of the Mt. Pairpoint (along with fifty workers) left Meriden, Connecticut and was named factory superintendent. Thus the Pairpoint Manufacturing Company was born. Pairpoint was considered to be the foremost silver designer in the country at the time. The company prospered and received favorable attention for its designs. In 1881, a second building doubled the size of the factory. A third building was constructed in 1882, and by 1892 two additional buildings had been built. The apparent success from the start must be credited to the ability of Thomas J. Pairpoint ceased production in 1958. Great opportunity to own a very nice antique tea set that should surely appreciate in value. This is very time consuming and does not work very well when there is.
