For your consideration is a SUPERB VINTAGE 4-Pc. BARKER ELLIS SILVER PLATED REPOUSSE’ FOOTED TEA SET. This truly is top quality silver plate and this tea and coffee service in excellent condition. The set is decorated in rich repousse’ floral relief with heavy gadrooned rims. All pieces are flanked on both sides with blank cartouches (no monogram) and fitted with fancy handles/mounts and supported with scrolled feet. The undersides carry clear marks including: Scripted “MS” in shield (maker mark from 1912) Number 26 MADE IN ENGLAND The coffee pot stands 9-5/8″(24.5cm) and the tea pot 6-1/2″(16.4cm) tall to the top of their handles and both hold approximately 10 cups. Includes the scalloped EPNS vintage sugar spoon shown from McGlashan-Clarke Co. Condition overall is excellent. Not at all overt is a very subtle polishing blush line on the upper rib rounding the waste on the right side of the coffee pot only. Again, not at all overt and mentioned out of clarity (see photos, all of which are taken in bright, atypical lighting). Hinges and handles are sound and the insides very clean with the teapot barely seasoned. This is some of the very best in silver plate tea services and from a renown maker – makes for an excellent gift!
