Vintage 1927/8 CONN Valve Trombone with Original Case

Here for sale is a vintage 1927-8 (serial number 208xxx) Conn Bb valve trombone. This trombone is in good shape functionally and cosmetically. The valves work smoothly with no hang-ups or dragging. One valve button is a replacement (still vintage) button. The tuning slide adjusts in and out like it should. An extra tuning slide is included. Please tap on the “Show More” button if you’d like to read more description and see all 24 photos of this trombone. Vintage 1927/8 CONN Valve Trombone w/ Original Case. Possibly the two slides allow for “high” or “low” pitch intonation, but I don’t know for sure. Cosmetically there are some minor dings here and there that are visible in the pictures. There is remarkably little play wear through the original satin silver finish. The engraving is very well defined and beautiful. The finish is a polished silver on the upper part of the bell where the engraving is, and a satin silver finish on the rest of the horn. A neat feature that speaks to the quality and care that went into making this instrument. Most of the original gold wash on the inside of the bell is still here. The worst of the dents by far are on the left side of the flair before the bell and one close to the lyre mount. The dents are pretty shallow and would be an easy repair for an experienced tech. Please check out all the photos. I made a lot of them to show both the condition of the finish and the overall fine integrity of this Conn valve trombone. I did not polish the finish except in the area where the engraving is. The rest is as found. There are no damaged parts (outside of the dents mentioned previously) or repairs I could find anywhere on the horn. It is straight and fits together like it should. This is a finely made beautiful sounding instrument that will provide years of enjoyment. It has been well loved and cared for. Included with the horn is an unmarked mouthpiece that was with the horn when I got it. I believe it is original to the horn. Also included is the original hard case that is in fair shape with the hing and all the latches working and handle intact. Please do not expect to get anything with the item being auctioned that is not shown in the pictures, unless it is mentioned in the item description as being included. Conn 3 Valve Silver Bell Up Eb Alto Horn Ser#117041 Cool Vintage Horn! Alto horns are very popular in brass bands. This one looks to be from 1912 based on the serial number. They are a very nice compact size and this horn plays well! The body is in good condition with only minor dents and dings. There is a lot of patina and tarnish on the horn. It comes with a mouthpiece so it is ready to play! Instrument Condition: The overall physical condition of this used instrument is. Some dents and dings. This instrument is currently in. It has approximately 50- 55% of the silver finish tough to tell with the tarnish on the horn. Light general wear (possible light surface scratches and/or minor dents and dings). All the valves are in good working condition and some of the tuning slides are stuck. Valve Info: Valve finger button number two does not match one and three. Lead Pipe Condition: Light general wear (possible light surface scratches and/or minor dents and dings). Outside Body Bow Condition. Has a light dent in the outside bow and/or a small ding (See Pics). Minor dents and dings and minor bell. Has a light dent in the bow guard with a small ding (See Pics). A mouthpiece is included engraved: York AL-TRU 6M. Several (See Pics) The main tuning slide to bell brace on the tuning slide side needs to be re-soldered. The post on the third valve tuning slide to outside body bow needs to be re-soldered on the body side. No broken or patched metal. Older Used Condition (Still usable but significant signs of physical wear) is likely the original case. It does have a sticker on the side and “Conn Eb Alto Horn” with numbers on the side of it. Conn 5 valve Euphonium Double Bell 1926. 1926 Extremely RARE Silver Conn Euphonium 5 valve double bell gold burnished Model 60i. The double bell euphonium is an instrument based on the euphonium. The larger bell produces the mellow tone of a standard euphonium; the second smaller bell has a brighter tone, similar to a baritone horn or valve trombone. The instrument is sometimes dismissed as a novelty, but has had a small number of enthusiastic adherents, although few professional musicians use it as their sole or primary instrument. The smaller bell can give more appropriate tone in the higher range of the instrument. The two bells can also be used for special effects, such as echoes, and using the distinctly different tone of the two bells for a single musician to give the effect of call and response. The large bell is marked 46 and the small bell 15. The values all move freely and fast. Please see all photos. The dings and small dents are shown as well as possible in the pictures. Vintage 1899 Silver Plated King Valve Trombone in VG Condition Make an Offer

This King sliver plated valve trombone was made in about 1899 and it’s in very good condition. The plating has held up very well and is still bright and shiny. There are a few minor dents in the bell section and some evidence of soldering work in the tubing coming out of the third valve (see pictures), but otherwise we see no signs of any significant previous damage or repair work. This trombone presents really well, and doesn’t look anywhere near as old as it is. The original case shows wear but is structurally intact. One latch is broken, but the other latch and the center case lock work as they should. The handle has been replaced. The latches work well. There’s no serious damage to the wood, although the case certainly shows wear consistent with its age. All reasonable offers considered. This is an extremely rare vintage of King valve trombones. 13500 serial number places it right at the turn of the century. Other than some tarnish on the silver plate personal aesthetic, polish it if you want… , this horn is in near perfect condition. We cant find a single dent anywhere on the horn, valves move like butter, all slides are greased and move free. This magic horn is going to make someone very happy! VINTAGE DEG Dynasty 2 valve Key G Bugle. 470 BORE Silver Plate DCI DCA Kanstul

This listing is for a RARE DEG Dynasty (#3582) 2 Valve G Bugle that is measured with my calipers as a. 470 bore with a YELLOW brass 5 bell Bb Professional Jazz DCI DCA Drum Corp International and Drum Corp Associates instrument. A blast from the past! This horn has an open leadpipe for a special blow! It has nickel plating with very little wear. It has 1 adjustable O finger rings and 1 saddle hook. 2nd valve slide has a nib on it. It has 2 standard water keys. Overall look is special and these are hard to find, especially in this condition. It is NOT new. This baby really SCREAMS! Some very light scratches here or there. It is a used BEAST! If you want a new one, get a new one… Everything works perfectly, as it should. Tuning slide is semi-round(on the back of the horn). Blows big for a a. 470 bore, as you would want SCREAMING La Fiesta or Malaguena! This horn does come with a VINTAGE case that is in 8 out of 10 condition. This listing comes with ANY in stock Legends Brass mouthpiece 1/2 off! I would suggest a matching Heavy Weight piece. These horns have GREAT focus and SIZZLE with the bore at. 470, the sound is AWESOME. It has had a cleaning and we have done our valve alignment which isn’t perfect but it is FREE! 470 bore really plays, but it doesn’t FEEL too large from a play ability standpoint. Don’t think twice about this horn, like I did for years. It will blow you away. The bell taper is fantastic. Way better than a Kanstul of equivalent cost.
