Vintage Australian Rodd’Silver Glory’ Silver Plate Cutlery set for 8. Lovely setting for 8 people is in the design Silver Glory manufactured by Australian Company Rodd. You will receive 8 dinner knives, 8 entree knives, 8 dinner forks, 8 entree forks, 8 soup spoons, 8 dessert spoons, 8 teaspoons and two large table or serving spoons. The set presents beautifully and appears to have never been used. The pieces are still individually wrapped in cellophane sleeves and the velvet finish lining to the canteen is protected by a plastic sheet. Some of the cellophane wrappers have small holes and there are spots where air has got in and there are very slight areas of tarnish… This will polish off super quickly and easily. I took a single piece of each type out of the cellophane for photography purposes and then put them back into their sleeves. There are no bubbles, flakes or corrosion spots to the silver plating. The canteen is a very simple one that holds the set beautifully. It is made from a wood with a simple grain and is a medium warm brown colour. It has a few scratches to the wood from storage. Vintage Australian Rodd Windsor Silver Plate Cutlery set for 6. Lovely setting for 6 and of 44 pieces is in the design Windsor manufactured by Australian Company Rodd in the late 1950’s and produced over a period of around 15 years. Although a popular pattern it is one of the harder to find. There are 6 dinner knives, 6 entree knives, 6 dinner forks, 6 entree forks, 6 soup spoons, 6 dessert spoons, 6 teaspoons and two large table or serving spoons. There is no damage to the pieces and they present beautifully. It has been gently used. The silver plate is glossy and reflective. There are a few odd small spots to the knife blades as shown. The large serving spoon has a nick to the bowl as shown. There is no loss of the plating nor any pitting or corrosion to any of the silver plate. Only the knife blades have some small pin prick spots of corrosion mainly at the base of the blades, one knife only has two small spots to the flat of the blade as shown. This ia beautiful setting in well cared for condition and ready for many more years of use. For Imperial measurement users a handy guide is 25mm or 2.5cm is a little less than 1 inch, so 100mm or 10cm is just less than 4 inches. Vintage Rodd Silver Plate Silver Shell Cutlery set for 6 people. This cutlery set was produced by G. Rodd of Melbourne, Australia and as such is of high quality silver plate. This cutlery set is a vintage set and in beautiful condition. It looks as if much of it has never been used. The blades are marked RODD and so are the backs of the silver plated pieces. The design has a stylized shell pattern to the shaped handle with small foliar motifs at the necks of the pieces. This is a setting for 6. 6 hollow hand dinner knives, 6 hollow handle entree knives. 6 dinner forks, 6 entree forks, 6 soup spoons, 6 dessert spoons, 6 teaspoons and two table spoons. There are 44 pieces. As mentioned above all are in lovely condition with many pieces presenting as new, some have fine scratches from storage or light use only.
