VINTAGE REED & BARTON Regent HAND-CHASED 5 pc. SILVER PLATE TEA SET 1940 5600C
Reed & Barton was a very prominent American silversmith company located in the city of Taunton, Massachusetts, operating between 1824 and 2015. Due to the closing of the company, their very fine products, no longer available, are highly sought after. This silverplate tea set, Regent, is in extremely good vintage condition. There are no dents, scratches, corrosion, or loss of the silverplate. The interiors are extremely clean with a very slight darkening due to the tea and coffee. There is one tiny dark spot on the waste bowl occurring during the manufacturing process. Please refer to the photographs. VINTAGE REED & BARTON Regent HAND-CHASED 5 pc. This handsome tea service has been well cared for and is free of dents and monograms, showing just expected old polish scratches. The teapot is 8 tall; 9 coffee; 6 sugar; 5 creamer and 4 waste on a 17 ½ x 26 tray with ornately engraved oval flat area app. 12 ½ x 17 ½. The set polishes up nicely and looks gorgeous: there is a small area of plate loss on the handle of the teapot where it joins the body of the pot see close-ups. You will note old polish residue. Each piece is fully marked and bears the date symbol for the year 1949. 38pce Vintage Danish silver plate Flatware Cutlery set Victoria Regent 6 person
Vintage Danish silver plate Victoria Regent cutlery set. This elegant set is in very good condition. This setting dates to around the 1950’s and is in a design called Regent. The pattern has three scallops running along the length of the handles. The ends of the pieces are finished in three pretty scallops across the ends. This is echoed just below the necks where the pattern ceases. The set is marked to the back with a Danish maker’s mark of. Some are also marked Regent for. To view pieces in this pattern please see below. The set comprises 6 dinner forks, 6 entree forks, 6 large continental soup spoons, 6 dessert spoons, 6 teaspoons, a jam spoon and a large serving spoon called a potato spoon. There are 38 pieces. There are 6 dinner knives with smooth glossy handles to complete the setting. The material used is made to look like horn and is made from a man made material. The knives are made in the Danish manner with a smooth ferrule and rounded ends. Although not original to the set these knives would have been similar to those used. All the pieces have fine scratches and scuff marks from use. There is a small amount of plating loss to the back of the tips of the fork tines as can be seen. There is no other silver plate loss. There is no corrosion and no spotting to the pieces. The set has been used but well cared for and the set presents nicely. The knives show no spotting or corrosion to the blades and the handles are sound with out any splitting. The set weighs over 1.5 kilos. The set will come wrapped in acid free tissue paper, padded with bubble wrap and packed in a box with void fill. For Imperial measurement users a handy guide is 25mm or 2.5cm is a little less than 1 inch, so 100mm or 10cm is just less than 4 inches.
