You are looking at a VINTAGE MERIDEN B. COMPANY SILVER PLATE AND BEVELED GLASS JEWELRY / TRINKET BOX On the bottom of the box it says – Meriden B. Company 55 and has a picture of a scale. The dimensions are 8 1/2″ X 6 1/4″ X 3 3/4. This item is in good used condition for its age, but there are a few cosmetic issues. There are some light scratches on the surface of the glass top and the interior velvet like material shows signs of wear. Beautiful plates by Meriden Brittania Company, Sterling Silver with beautifully detailed border. Marked on reverse “Sterling” with makers mark, and numbered 696-3. Great Vintage Condition, light surface scratches. Plates Measure 6 1/8” in Diameter, total weight 415 grams. Beautiful and elegant set. Antique VTG F B Rogers Silver Company 1883 Plated Coffee Urn Samovar 16 Tall. For your consideration is a silver plated coffee urn/Samovar. Made by FB Rogers Silver Company. Stamped on bottom with makers mark and number 1883. It is fully functional. It holds liquid and spigot does not leak. Condition: It is in good useable condition, but not perfect. We polished it for photos, but to make it perfect it would probably need a more another pass. I personally would use it as is. There is a dent on front right side next to base of handle. There is slight scuffing and signs of use. There remnants of polishing paste in the crevices. Spigot handle is a bit wobbly, but fully functional. This seems to be common with vintage pieces, because they loosen over time with use. Overall Review: I have used this piece myself. It’s always brought a certain elegance to my parties. No one has ever mentioned the ding. If you’re a perfectionist this piece may not be for you. If you don’t mind a little “history” you’ll be very pleased. It’s a spectacular piece, and ready to use. Size: The urn is 16 inches tall. It is 11 inches wide from handle to handle. It weighs 5 pounds five ounces. It’s nice and heavy which makes it easy to use. Inv: 15385-x 5.5.0 2 eb boxes. English Silver Company Silver Plate Meat Dome & Tray – Vintage. My Grandmother & Mother set a splendid table when they entertained with lots of silver and beautiful china, crystal & linen. They loved to bring the roasted meat to the table hidden under a shining silver meat dome & lift off the lid with great aplomb to reveal the feast. For our New Year Celebration dinner, our table was set for 6 persons, & so we used a smaller meat dome & serving platter for as a centerpiece to reveal our gorgeous rack of lamb. This is an old silver-plate set that has been dearly utilized over the years to present a roast for a modest number of guests. The dome is 13.5 inches by 9.5 inches and approximately 7 inches high with handle. It sits on a lovely footed tray that is 16 by 11.5 that sits 2 inches off the table. While it has been loved & used over the years, it still makes a lovely presentation piece as well as utilitarian carving /serving station. This set would certainly make a lovely gift or addition to your own home. Imagine your roast presented in this manner. Item = Silver-plate meat dome & carving/serving tray. Material = Silver plate.
