Vintage Los Angles Benge Silver Plated Professional Trumpet. This is an American classic. It is a tweaked version of the original French Besson made by Zig Kanstul and his small band of professional craftsmen. The horn is lightweight and has an excellent feel in the hand. The sound is focused, rich and lively. The compression is strong and the valves are light. It will make a great player for any comeback player, advancing student or professional. Included is the original case which shows some wear but is structurally sound with working latches and a solid handle. The trumpet is in good cosmetic condition for its age. There is a little silver plating missing, most on the top caps, light surface scratches and pings but no large dents or concerns. Vintage Excellent Benge CG Claude Gordon LA Trumpet Silver Plated With Bach Case

Vintage Excellent Benge CG Claude Gordon Trumpet Silver Plated With Bach Case. Has CG stamped on brace coming out of first casing and on the 2nd valve. Horn made in earlier stages of Los Angeles Benge company era #17xxx serial range. Claude Gordon was a famous trumpet player and educator who wrote few books on the development of trumpet playing / range and endurance as well as he led his own orchestras and was a soloist performer. Horn is in overall very good shape with complete silver finish. Found 3 dings one on bell pipe close to 2nd valve and one on the bottom of bell pipe above 1st slide finger saddle facing the floor and one in the bell flare facing the floor so hard to see. Also noticed that possibly there was a bell edge dent removed on the bottom edge which left small hair line hard to see. Noticed a bit of shallow wear on the bottom of 1st and 2nd pistons in single areas not around these pistons. It seems that it is a common issue on the vintage Benges but has no effect on the movement and it is only a very slight surface wear. It appears that previous owner changed top finger buttons for more modern Benge buttons with no pears present but secure for fingers and these go more into the button and create more secure grip. Horn also features 3rd slide amado water key added which is very useful to empty the 3rd slide water during playing. Horn sounds great and is recommended for a pro player. As I said earlier silver is in very good shape and there is no corrosion on the horn and / or leadpipe. Horn comes with vintage Bach case from the same era as the horn. These CG Benges do not come up for sale as often as other Benges. BENGE Vintage Trumpet 3xML bore resno tempered bell circa 1975 Silver Plate. This horn came from a musician. This is the horn he played in college. He has not been playing for years, so liquidated half a dozen musical items, from effects to guitar to bass to, this Trumpet. This horn is fully functional, with tuning slides and pistons all free and working. This horn most certainly would benefit from a complete chem clean, inside and out. But she’s functional, and right now can be used with some valve oil and tuning slide grease handy. As I survey the horn, I can only find one tiny pin size ding and no dents. The finish does have some wear, the most being on the 2nd valve tuning slide. Overall really nice and for a horn over 40 years old I would call it a good 7 out of 10. BELL IS ENGRAVED Resno-Tempered Bell / Custom Built by E. Benge / Los Angeles Calif. Now to bore size, someone helped me to ID this as a 3x bore. They told me where it might be marked, and they were spot on and I found the 3. The 2nd piston casing is marked on the outside with ML. Comes with original case & 2 Schilke mouthpieces. Vintage Silver Plated Burbank Benge #5 Bell 5X Professional Trumpet/Great Player

Vintage Burbank Benge Professional Trumpet / Number 5 Bell. These are certainly some of the most classic American trumpets ever made and it is hard to imagine any professional player not loving this horn. One amazing aspect of this trumpet is the response and fullness of tone for what most people would consider a lightweight trumpet. The valves have a great feel to them and all slides are free and functional. The trumpet is free of any large dents, the bell is straight and it is a horn you will enjoy picking up. There are small areas of silver loss around contact areas and normal wear. I believe you will find this to be in above average cosmetic condition for its vintage and an excellent playing professional trumpet. First, please excuse the poor photography. Not my strong suit! This is a REAL, RARE Burbank Benge trumpet, serial number 7220, made at 1122 W. Burbank, California in 1969 by Elden Benge’s son Donald. That’s right this is a 50-year-old trumpet in excellent (not mint) original condition. 460 bore, #5 bell (see pics) makes this a 5X. Recently professionally serviced, including chemical bath cleaning and a precision valve alignment. This horn is a player, not a museum piece. No case or mouthpiece. It came to my attention that due to low serial number of very near #2050 this is a horn body is from Benge Chicago 1946/47 years period and bell is from Burbank period so the title of this listing has been updated as well as this addition to this listing has been made. Silver plated early Chcago Bnnge with Burbank Bell ML bore. Horn is silver plated, it’s been refurbished iand has few protective patches added on the end of 1st slide 2nd slide and pipe entering leadpipe into 3rd valve with the biggest on the bell bow shown on photo. Silver plating is in excellent shape as well as valves and sound are great. Valves all match serial numbers as the body of the horn. It’s a great horn lighter to hold and plays with a darker tone. It comes with generic case. This is a players horn not a museum piece but looks very good due to no silver wear. Vintage Chicago-Burbank Benge, L bore trumpet in silverplate

Here is a VERY rare Benge, made by Elden in 1954. It is a Chicago Benge, assembled at the Burbank shop one year after the move from Chicago. It is ALL Chicago parts, including the bell, which has the staff logo (worn a bit), yet also has the Burbank address stamped underneath. Reportedly, there were only around 20 of these EVER made, because it is a Large bore. This is THE first Large bore made (assembled) at the Burbank facility. It was cleaned and replated at the Zig Kanstul factory less than 10 years ago. Zig did the work. Valves were also replated & fit. There was a first valve trigger (see pics of valves) that I had professionally removed, since it may not have been original…. For me, this allows for a more comfortable grip. I can send the trigger, if you desire to have it re-attached. The horn plays VERY free and easy… Even and smooth in all registers. Great intonation and perfect slotting.
