It’s from a local estate is this wonderful Victorian bun or biscuit warmer. The inside of the warmer is marked with the James Dixon makers marks and Made in England from the 1800’s. The company started using the Bugle and Banner during the early 1870’s and added the Ltd. In the 1920’s. The dish doesn’t have the Ltd. Dating it to pre 1920 though we believe it to be from the 1880’s determined by the style and design. The warmer is unique in that it features a locking system using pins on either side of the top of the dish. The pins allow for each side to be used without the other side opening up. Each side is opened by pressing down on the pin. Closing the dish tightly locks it in place. The silver plate lovely, shiny and is in good condition as shown. Any pink coloring are reflections from the camera cover. There are no monograms, dents or pitting. The gilt is also in good condition. There are no repairs.
