VINTAGE ORIGINAL WHITE STAR LINE 1st CLASS LARGE 6 SLOT TOAST RACK – ELKINGTON SILVER PLATE – 1903. This one is made by Elkington and has a silver plate date stamp with the letter R in a barrel, dating this to 1903. It has the house flag of the White Star Line stamped on one side of the very ornate and decorative beaded handle area. This one is larger than some others I’ve seen and is mounted on ball shaped feet. It measures approximately 7″ X 3 1/4″ X 5 5/8 high. It is in very good overall condition for something 100+ years old. It would have been used onboard any number of steamships in 1st class dining saloons during the late Victorian era into the early Edwardian period and beyond. Most likely from steamships such as the RMS Cedric, the Baltic, the Adriatic, or perhaps even the Olympic, to name a few. It has signs of a long career, showing a few clunks and bumps with some bent areas from years of use, but it will still display beautifully in a collection!!
