Here is a Vintage, very Rare and extraordinary 1961 Vincent Bach Corp Mt Vernon NY Stradivarius, Trumpet! The year was 1953, and the owner/founder. Vincenz Schrotenbach aka Vincent Bach moved his factory from the Bronx NY facility, upstate to its new location in Mt. This would become the sole manufacturing site of these amazing Trumpets through, 1965. So, why are these Trumpets so special that they almost never come to the marketplace for sale? The reasons are many and varied in importance, but when you bake in all of these characteristics into their manufacturing process, they created one of the most sought after Trumpets worldwide for these last 67 years! The Mt Vernon Bachs #37 (which this is) has one-piece, hand-hammered yellow brass bell found on instruments of a quality that can only be attained through the collective experience of nearly a century of specially-trained Bach craftsmen. This bell creates a unique timbre of warmth, tone, and projection that has made this Trumpet a modern-day legend. This technique allows the bell to vibrate without constriction, allowing for the clear and resonant sound that Bach is known for! The Mt Vernon Stradivarius trumpets also incorporated a one-piece valve casing made from yellow brass. This allows the valve pistons to be aligned more easily and tightly than on multiple piece constructed models. It also greatly reduces internal wear on the horn. It also features a Bach #25 lead pipe and has a. 459 Medium-Large Bore, which creates the perfect amount of airflow and resistance while maintaining an even, centered tone. 459, thus the bell is a #37, although none of the Stradivarius models in the Mt. Vernon era were stamped on the bell. As you can easily see this Trumpet has been meticulously refurbished to a state of better than its original condition if that is possible! This horn was dis-assembled, given multiple sonic baths and all defects were corrected including some very minor dent work. The valves are fast and full of action and the sound that this Trumpet produces is a lost commodity from another time. Lastly the Trumpet was treated to brand new silver plating, and a Gold Wash in the inner bell. It is absolutely gorgeous and performs even better than it looks For a 59-year-old Legendary Trumpetthis is an absolute gem! It comes with a case which latches well but may take a finger nail to open, not the original, and several mouthpieces. Functionality & Investment Value… This one has both… And so very much more!
