A beautiful, well made vintage silver plated gallery tray made by Cavalier. Oval, with an elaborately chased surface, blank central cartouche, gallery rail with pointed arches, side handles with central shell motifs and standing on four bun feet. Really good quality – very sturdy and strong. The overall width from handle to handle is just over 22 1/2 inches (19 inches excluding the handles) by a depth of 12 1/4 inches. A rather lovely example of a goodly sized tray, large enough for a variety of potential uses. Offered for sale in excellent vintage condition. The plate is bright and gleaming, like a mirror. Obviously, it has some age and will have been used so there are minimal signs of both age and use, including some tiny black specks here and there and some light surface scratches, but nothing of any note. Even so, please be realistic as it is old, not new – inspect the photographs and if in doubt, please ask. The bottom is faintly penned with a previous owner’s surname and post code. Perfect for serving elegant afternoon tea with silverware and bone china, or as a drinks tray with cut glass decanters and crystal stemware. Add a bit of bygone style and class to your home!
