Vintage Lafayette C Clarinet, Albert System, low pitch, silver plate

Ashantee Music & More. We are pleased to offer this rare, vintage clarinet! This is a Lafayette early Albert system in the key of C. It is marked “LP C” on the bell. The barrel has some glued cracks, but holds compression, even after playing it for a while, so I think it’s all good. I don’t see any chips or cracks on the rest of the clarinet, silver plate has surprisingly little wear if any. Unlike the other horns in this collection, it has not been overhauled in a while, and the pads are showing some age. A few have been replaced recently, I don’t see any that are damaged or frayed, and both joints hold compression well. Albert’s are not my forte, but I can figure out scales, and all the notes play properly across all the registers. This was owned by a playing clarinetist, and was played as recently as last year. Comes with a vintage Woodwind Educator G8 mouthpiece, and an old hard case I put it in just to protect it. This is from a large collection of vintage professional clarinets we acquired. They include Bb, A, C, and Eb, full-Boehm, and several different manufacturers. We are instrument retailers, not parents of a band student who found an old horn in the closet!
